SynSecurity will become a registered company under Syn Software Posted on 2 April 2026
This marks a formal step for the project. From that date, SynSecurity is planned to operate under the Syn Software structure as a registered UK business, subject to the required registration steps being completed and the published terms being updated accordingly. The change is designed to give the service clearer ownership, clearer accountability, and a more stable legal footing for support, moderation, and administration.
For community members, the practical day-to-day experience should remain familiar. The bot, moderation workflow, and support routes will stay focused on reports, review, and reputation. What changes is the framework behind the service: contracts, invoices, complaints handling, and service correspondence should move into a more formal business structure that is easier to reference and audit.
- For users: the moderation tools stay the same, but the service becomes clearer on ownership, policy, and support routes.
- For staff: reports, appeals, and enforcement decisions sit inside a more defined record-keeping process.
- For privacy: the service should be read alongside the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the published Privacy Policy.
- For compliance: SynSecurity will continue to apply UK-based expectations around moderation, safety, and lawful data handling.
